Swim Alberta - Mental Performance, Health, and Wellbeing Program
Swim Alberta's Mental Performance, Health, and Wellbeing Program aimed to deliver education on mental health and wellbeing to support athletes, coaches, and parents. The program, supported by the InMotion Network grant, focused on key areas, including a monthly newsletter, a Mental Performance Series, mental health sessions at the Swim Alberta Conference, and support for newcomers within the swimming community.

- Program Development:
- Monthly Newsletter: Created and distributed a comprehensive mental health and wellness newsletter, providing regular insights and resources to athletes, coaches, and parents.
- Mental Performance Series: Developed and presented a Mental Performance Series, offering valuable insights and strategies to enhance mental performance in sport.
- Conference Sessions: Executed mental health and wellbeing-specific sessions at the annual Swim Alberta Conference, addressing crucial topics for leadership positions within Swim Alberta clubs.
- Newcomer Support:
- Launched the Swim Alberta Newcomer Grant to support the integration of newcomers into existing clubs.
- Focused on reducing barriers to participation, fostering inclusion, and creating a safe and welcoming environment for newcomers in the swimming community.
- Webinar Series and Online Sessions:
- Organized and conducted online sessions, including webinars and the Mental Performance Series, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for participants across Alberta, including those in rural areas.
- Swim Alberta Conference:
- Contributed to the success of mental health and wellness sessions at the Swim Alberta Conference.
- Engaged expert speakers and facilitators to address important topics related to mental health, creating a positive and supportive environment for coaches, club executives, officials, and staff.
- Networking and Collaboration:
- Leveraged the InMotion Network grant to foster networking and collaboration opportunities.

The InMotion Network Safe & Welcoming Grant played a pivotal role in the successful execution of Swim Alberta's mental health and wellness initiatives.
