Network of Black Women Southern Alberta - Pastels & Pickleball
The Network of Black Women Southern Alberta is a Black-led, feminist grassroots organization in Southern Alberta dedicated to creating a safe space for Black women of all ages to grow, connect, thrive. The network encourages Black women to embrace their full potential in every aspect of life. In May 2026 the group provided their network an opportunity called Pastels & Pickleball, which was designed to:
- Foster connection and sisterhood
- Provide a low-pressure pace for Black women to participate in sport
- Have a workshop to explore barriers to physical activity for Black women
- Create a sense of community that can continue to be fostered
This opportunity drew 18 women and girls and the network will continue to provide opportunities for their community to incorporate physical activity into their offerings.
