Evolve Technical Seminar
Evolve Technical Seminars - Alberta Baton Twirling Association
Alberta BatonTwirling Association used their Take the Lead support to offer Evolve Technical Seminars to their membership. This professional development initiative was designed to support coaches, judges and club leaders through education, collaboration, and leadership growth. Learning opportunities were delivered not only during the seminar, but also through sessions held both prior to and following the seminar to reinforce key concepts and support long-term skill development.
This project strengthened technical and leadership credentials for coaches and judges, increasing their confidence, competence, and readiness to take on coaching and judging roles within the sport. The training and mentorship opportunities support future pathways into coaching, judging, and organizational leadership, expanding the capacity of the organization to deliver quality programming and develop future leaders.
The project directly addressed common barriers for women in sport, including limited access to technical education, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities. By offering structured learning both before and after the seminar, the initiative reduced time, cost, and accessibility barriers while providing a supportive environment for skill development and collaboration.
This project had a positive impact on gender equity by intentionally supporting women in gaining recognized technical knowledge, leadership skills, and mentorship connections. By strengthening credentials and creating clear development pathways, the project helped increase the representation of women in coaching, judging, and leadership roles, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable sport system.
