EmpowerHer Sport Summit

EmpowerHer Sport Summit

The EmpowerHer Sport Summit, organized by the Dinos Women’s Volleyball Club took place in January 2025. This one day annual event is designed for female athletes between the ages of 15 and 25 years and their community of supporters.

The event’s primary objective is to spotlight the skills often overlooked in the pursuit of excellence, and create awareness as to their potential impact on the unique journey of the female athlete. Identifying and understanding the often unquantifiable aspects of performance and how they can shape experience and enjoyment of sport are vital to realistic goal-setting. The intentional development of these skills are keys to continuous improvement, sustainable performance and success in life and sport.

This one day event included 18 educational sessions presented in numerous formats including expert keynote speaker, interactive panels, small group workshops and round table discussions. This inspiring summit encourages collaborative exploration on topics such as confidence, nerves, fear, identity, emotions and decision-making.

Funding provided by Take the Lead assisted with essential costs for hosting the event which saw over 200 young girls and women attend. The costs associated with attending the event can be a deterrent for many but through community support like that of the InMotion Network, the cost to attend remains manageable and more participants are able to attend. In 2025 we saw the event sell out for the first time since inception, further showing the need for these kinds of events and how much financial support can go in making it accessible for all. The next EmpowerHer Sport Summit is January 10, 2026.
