Edson Tumblers Gymnastics Club - Coaching Projects 2022-2026

The Edson Tumblers Gymnastics Club has received support from InMotion as they continue to support local women in coaching and judging opportunities in Edson. With the help of the Take the Lead grant, the Edson Tumblers Gymnastics Club was able to:

• Fully certify coaches, allowing the club to continue to offer a wide variety of gymnastics classes. 
• Continue education opportunities for all coaches, including courses like First Aid, Ninjas Training, and Active Start. 
• Support coaches to work towards their Competitive Level of coaching. 
• Support coaches to take their Introduction to Gymnastics theory. 
• Offer coaches the opportunity to complete a judging course.

With the Take the Lead grant, the organization was able to offer in-house courses that benefited all of the coaches and removed the barriers of having to travel to a larger center. This grant supported the Edson Tumblers to move forward with a certification and advancement plan for the club. In addition several coaches who have moved on to post secondary education in other locations but they continue to work as coaches or recreational camp leaders in the community where they attend school. By obtaining the knowledge, leadership and confidence as coach they are able to use their skills to continue to work as strong female role models in the area of sport and recreation. They not only certified more coaches in a year than in previous years but also removed the financial barrier of certification course fees and travel costs. As the club is in a rural location, the grant was impactful to the organization and their ability to continue operating with certified coaches.
