Go Girl Jasper

Go Girl 2026 was a regional girls’ wellness and empowerment event that brought together 150 girls from Jasper, Hinton, Whitecourt, Fox Creek, Edson, and Yellowhead County for a full day focused on confidence, connection, recreation, leadership, and wellbeing. The event provided a safe, inclusive, and supervised recreational setting where girls could participate in positive wellness activities, build friendships, and connect with inspiring female mentors and community leaders.

A major focus of the project was overcoming barriers to participation for girls living in rural and remote communities. Regional collaboration helped support transportation coordination between communities, while low registration costs and community sponsorships helped reduce financial barriers for families. The event also created an inclusive environment where girls of varying backgrounds, interests, and experience levels felt welcomed and supported. Programming emphasized participation, connection, and personal growth rather than competition.

There were a variety of activities offered including, Roller-skating, Taekwondo, Firefighting skills, Gymnastics, Rock Climbing, Power Up Fitness, Outdoor Survival Skills and Lifeguarding.  The day also included some crafting and art activities to support additional opportunities to connect and make friends.
