LEAP Girls - Edson
The Edson LEAP Centre offered the LEAP Girls program, which provided a weekly 3 hour neurodivergent girls youth group. The program that offered physical activities that were paired with social activities that were planned and agreed upon by the group of young girls attending each week. In their small rural setting, they were able to flex and adjust program activities, incorporate other community non-profit organizations and allow for strong bonds to develop.
The funding from InMotion, helped eliminate financial barriers, increased the frequency the program could be offered, allowed for a larger variety of activities to be explored and created a safe environment where the youth wanted to return and participate on a weekly basis. The program had 23 different neurodivergent girls attend over the year and offered 30 different weekly groups.
