Women and Sport Leadership in Alberta

How is your organization advancing gender equity on your board and in leadership roles?

This online session will:

  • Review the recent Women in Sport Leadership Snapshot from Canadian Women and Sport. New to the 2021-2022 Snapshot, provincial and territorial data was added to the national data collection.
  • Share examples of Alberta PSOs working towards gender equity in their organizations.
  • Provide opportunities and resources that might support your organization in their gender equity goals.

 

Speakers:

Natasha Cyrille (she/her/elle) - Natasha is the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Canadian Women & Sport. Her career in sports began during her post-secondary degree in Toronto Metropolitan University's Sport Media program. Her first job in sports media would begin at the Toronto Inner-City Rugby Foundation as a content curator and rugby facilitator. After spending four summers at the organization, Natasha has developed a strong attachment and passion for the rugby community. Her journey in the sports industry has involved organizations such as U Sports, CBC and the Coaches Association of Ontario. Natasha has a passion for storytelling and championing women leaders in all levels of sport. Outside of her professional duties, Natasha enjoys playing rugby and volleyball, reading world history and spending time outdoors.

Bronwen Harvey (she/her) - Bronwen has worked at Alberta Ringette for over 4 years and has been coaching ringette for over 20 years. Bronwen participated in the Alberta Women in Sport Leadership Program from 2018-2021. Bronwen values physical activity and sport and has been active since a young age both in ringette and soccer.
