For the Love of the Game – A Conversation with PSOs about Women’s Experience’s in Sport – Edmonton
In 2024, the InMotion Network began a systemic change project examining the experiences of women in Alberta's sport sector. As a first step, we launched a survey exploring women's experiences in sport. We gathered responses from over 300 people working across 58 different sports — some of which may be working in your organization.
We invite you to learn more about the responses that were gathered and begin to collectively imagine what it takes to build systems that don't just include women, but truly reflect the diversity of Alberta's communities — across coaching, officiating, and leadership.
During the session we will:
- Provide an overview of an InMotion Networks Systemic Change Project including survey data, project details and resources created to have conversations to address systemic change. This will also include a brief review of the 2026 Canadian Women in Sport Leadership Snapshot and current Alberta data on women in leadership roles in SPAR.
- Create spaces to discuss barriers and opportunities for equity across coaching, officiating, and leadership and how InMotion Network can support PSOs in future projects.
- Collaborate and network across organizations and begin to collectively imagine how we might create spaces that are welcoming, affirming, and reflective of Alberta's diverse communities.

This session is for Alberta Provincial Sport Organizations who want to deepen their understanding of the systemic barriers affecting gender equity and explore how organizations can contribute to meaningful change. No preparation required — just bring your experiences and ideas. We hope you’ll join us as we move this work forward together.
