Tri-Region Go Girl

In a regional partnership with the City of Spruce Grove, the Town of Stony Plain, Parkland County, Alberta Parenting for Future and the Primary Care Network, the group hosted the Tri-Regional Go Girl in the spring of 2025. There were 45 girls ages 6-17 who attended the day to try new physical activities in an inclusive environment with girls of all abilities, ages and cultural backgrounds To reduce financial barriers the registration fee was set at $5 and to increase access the venue was accessible and activities all adaptable to vary skill levels. 

The day started with a shared commitment to creating a safe, no judgement space and community partners, leaders and speakers supported the event by emphasizing the themes of strength, self-acceptance, and empowerment through sports. The day provided a diverse range of activities including yoga, gymnastics, football and martial arts. Sport and Recreation partners included Ariel Gymnastics, Phoenix Martial Arts Club, MVMT+ Yoga Collective, and the Stony Plain Bombers.  

The region plans to continue to build this event in the future.
